Celebrating 2!!

On February 6th Aiden turned 2! He had a little friends party with his buddy Oakley, since their birthdays are in the same week. I found this awesome picture of a train cake, so we picked a train theme for them. It was super cute! I have mentioned before I think, that Aiden loves singing Happy Birthday, their was a bunch of birthdays before his, so he was pretty pumped when it was finally time to sing it to him! Even yesterday in the van, we were waiting for Jeff, and sang it at least 10 times, interjecting different names.
On his actual birthday, it was a Friday, we took him to his first hockey game. What a guy, we were worried we might only get to stay for a little bit but he ended up sitting mesmerized for the entire game. We were pretty impressed.

On Saturday night we had a family/caregroup birthday party for him. I decided I didn't have enough energy to do another cake, so I did cupcakes instead. Yeah they were almost more work, but they turned out really cute. Yes Uncle Dustin was kind (that was sarcastic) to get Aiden a much desired drum set. Actually its not that bad and pretty funny to see him try to rock out with his drums and his guitar at the same time.
Fun with balloons after it was all over!
A lot of the time I look at Tristen and think wow this was just Aiden, now Aiden is two! thats crazy! Aiden has such a funny personality and I see so much of Jeff and myself in him. He is obsessed with guitars and I do mean obsessed. He uses pretty much anything thats around as one. He also loves cleaning. He sweeps my floor at least three times a day and is getting really good at actually keeping stuff in the dustpan and throwing it in the garbage. So yeah my floors are usually quite clean lol.
He can pretty much say anything now and uses pretty full sentences, often referring to himself in the third person. Aiden help, Aiden do it, and so on. He plays super well independently and will often just be looking at books quietly. For this I am sooo thankful.
He loves his brother and is always saying good morning Tristen, anytime of day, and "hey buddy". I never had a sibling close to me in age, so I am pretty excited for him to have a best friend that is his brother (hopefully).
Aiden loves Boz, the big green bear. He watched it every morning in our bed and then starts his day, hes never been much of a TV watcher, but suddenly has a fascination with the movie robots. He actually fell asleep to it yesterday, yes that would be a trait from his mother, for anyone that knows me, I ALWAYS fall asleep in movies.
So much more about my precious boy- hoping soon we can attempt the potty training thing. We tried one day, but there was not one sucessful moment so I am going to hold of for a bit more and try again in a bit.
Happy Happy birthday to my bunky bear!

Happy birthday Aiden!
Joc - You did a fantastic job with the cake & cupcakes!!
With Micah I waited until he was almost 2 and a half to potty-train and it was SO much easier than it would've been at age 2 (esp. since I still had a newborn like you!)

Such fun parties!! I agree - the cake and cupcakes look amazing! I love birthdays. So much fun to celebrate especially when it's your own kids.
It's so crazy that Aiden and Kyra are 2. I look at Kyra some days and think "where did my baby go?" Potty training - such a headache. Hopefully things go more smoothly the 2nd time around. Love you!
