The life of the rich and famous or us just pretending in the bustling city of New York:)

So on October 9th, Jeff and I headed off to Manhattan, New York! Jeff had been at has been at his job for 5 years, so his service award was a flight anywhere in North America. We chose New York, and what an awesome choice.
Here is just a really small glimpse into our 5 days there.
Aiden stayed with my mom, so it was like our last final hurrah before the craziness of another child begins:)
Our first night we arrived at our hotel, were upgraded to a deluxe suite with a jacuzzi tub, which ended up being very nice after the TONS of walking we did. We had dinner at an awesome pizza place called John's and then saw the Lion King. I can't even describe how awesome that was!

Our hotel was 2 blocks from Times Square, the happening place, thousands of people even at midnight. Pretty intense!
We had a pass for a hop on hop off bus for 3 days, so we took the double decker bus everywhere, there was always a different tour guide and dispite having to take the same tour to get places, the guides always had new stuff to say!
Macy's is the largest department store in the world. It has 11 floors and takes up an entire city block. There windows for Christmas take 2 years to make. We did a lot of browsing, not to much actual shopping because of the crazy prices, but we did find some really awesome deals on clothes and shoes, souviners and some very cute maternity shirts at the GAP for a steal! Jeff was a real trooper as we went from one store to the next.

Rockefellar Centre, where they light the Christmas tree.
Ground zero, a have a whole new understanding for that tragedy after having stood right there and just imagined the horror of those two buildings collapsing. Especially with the proximity that everything is.

We took a night time tour and had an awesome view of the Manhattan skyline from Brooklyn.

We took a ferry out to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. This was the middle day of our trip and we were starting to get tired and a little overwhelmed, so we didn't go in to either one, but the ferry ride was quite enjoyable since we had such awesome weather!

The world's largest Toys r Us, complete with a ferris wheel and a Statue of Liberty made out of lego.

Carriage ride in Central Park, definitely one of the highlights for me!

Having my picture taken with the Abercombe and Fitch model:)

The view from the top of the Empire State building, incredible! We were 86 stories up!

Our last night, we did more shopping and ate at the Hard Rock Cafe! What an awesome trip, we would highly recommend it if you ever get the chance.

But we were also happy to come home to Aiden, we missed him ALOT!

Two days later I took off to the Celine Dion concert in Vancouver, spent a week with my family with Aiden. More about in the days to come!

It all looks like so much fun! Thanks for the update, I've been wondering how you've been doing, and sorry to have missed you while you were in town.
I hope the last stretch of your pregnancy goes really well (and no, I didn't mean for "stretch" to be a pun...:) )

Great pictures Jocelyn. What a great trip for you and Jeff to go on. I have to say, I'm most jealous of your carriage ride. I've always wanted to go on one and to do it in New York - unbelievable!:D
It was so great to see you and Aiden - hope things have settled back into a normal routine at home. Love you!
