Shower and Shanigans!

Yesterday I hosted a shower for my sister-in-law Angela and baby Kaiwren. It was a fun afternoon of oohing over little tiny outfits, eating food, and exclaiming over every sound that came out of little Kai babies mouth. He's so precious and I LOVE his hair!
My other sister-in-law Jeanna made this fun diaper cake, I love the decorating, however since the last shower for my friend Janet I learned to put my duck centerpiece in the living room. Last time everyone thought it was punch and almost drank my duck pond:)
A few recent shots of the boys! We took out Aiden's exersaucer to free up some room in our storage room, he was pretty excited to see his old "friend". He really does enjoy cuddle time with dad, he was just out of sorts. He's been pretty snotty, owly, and finally cut his two top teeth last week. Thus the soiled bunny hug in picture 4. He loves to be pulled or pushed in anything. He has now completely mastered the stairs. Down is still precarious for me so he is still supervised. But on Saturday I turned around and he was half way up the second flight of stairs to upstairs. Yes the impending haircut is coming up soon, its just soooo hard I LOVE his long hair.

Silliness with the plethra of balloons we had around here for the shower. Jeff thought it would be funny to put a pair of his sweatpants on J and fill them with balloons. However he weighs a little more than a peanut so he couldn't pop them. It was pretty funny however. With that is the sad part, it looks like J finally has a courtdate on March 11th and he will become a permanent ward of the state and be moved to a longterm fosterhome. Honestly, not really sure how I feel yet, or how quickly this process is going to go. It's going to be hard, however, with some very hard days in our past, there will be some relief as well. I am actually trying to block out most of the emotion right now and praying that a really super family will come along that can deal with his needs appropriatly. For right now we are not that family and as absolutely hard as its going to be we cannot commit to long-term right now.

Cute pictures! That's great that Aiden's teeth finally cut through! Hopefully you'll have a good break before his next teeth come in.

I'm sorry to hear that J will be permanently placed soon. That can't be easy for you guys or for him. We'll be praying for you.

your nephew is sooo cute, and that pic of J in the sweats is priceless!

i can only imagine how difficult it will be (something i'd love to sit down & chat with you about) for you to see J leave. i hope he's placed in a very loving home...though i'm sure it doesn't get much better than you. you've built into his life - and he's SO much better for it.

The first haircut - something I've been putting off as well:) I too like Aiden's long hair - I think you should keep it a while longer:)
The shower looked like lots of fun - diaper cakes are a great idea.
The pictures of J made me giggle:) Praying for you in this difficult time of knowing that J needs to go to a different family, but I'm guessing it's going to be hard feeling like a part of your family has suddenly disappeared. I'll join you in praying that a family will come along that is perfectly suited to care for J's needs. Love you Joc.

Hi Jocelyn, I have been reading your blog for a while now (hope thats okay) and I just want to say that I admire what you and Jeff have done for J and that I will totally be praying with you that God will provide an awesome family for him to go to. I don't think you should feel bad in any way for not being ready to do longterm care. What you have given J since you have had him is such a PRECIOUS gift. Anyways I admire you and Jeff for opening your home in that way. Take care.
