Party time in the youth department! Our Christmas party this year was a riot! The highlights included making gingerbread houses, watching ELF (I highly recommend, very funny), and eating a lot of sugar! The youth were awesome and just put there hearts into whatever we through there way! We have an awesome group!
Christmas was so good to us again this year! I am slightly obsessed about Christmas, I love everything about it. Normally January is an absolutly depressing month for me, but this year we have something very exciting to look forward to.
We spent the first part of Christmas with Jeff's parent's and family. The trip is about 4 hours and I have to say driving long distances is not my most favorite thing this year. Baby doesn't really care for my being in the sitting position (straight up) for long periods of time and consistently reminds me with a jab and quite a cramp in my right side. However, being with family is worth it and it was really good to be all together!
We came back home for our Christmas Eve service and also to the most exciting part of my Christmas, Ray and Sam and kids arriving. Our service was beautiful and I was really thankful that this year we made that a priority. Last year I felt like I just hadn't had quality Jesus time during Christmas because of business and this year was so much more fulfilling. Our evening was completed with a fondue at our house. Which had been lovingly ransacked while we were away buy some certain family members. Unique Christmas decorations and a even a Christmassy display on our bed of snowman plates, wine glasses and candles for a romantic Christmas breakfast. Christmas morning began with my niece calling at 8:30am to see when in the world we would be coming. Followed by several more phone calls. Christmas is so much more fun with kids and quite honestly I was up at 6 myself (maybe a slight bit excited) but I did fall back asleep. So the day progressed with my favorite (PRESENTS) and relaxing and just being content to be with family. I was very excited to get a large amount of picture frames for our house, since I really didn't have anything up for pictures. It just feels so much more homey now and its great because there are several left to fill with upcoming baby pics.
December 26th Loewen Family Christmas!
Our Grandparent's rented a room at the Travellodge Hotel and had dinner catered for us this year. As usual there were the silly games, and the serious games (Monopoly, For Sale Phase 10) and lots of visiting and laughing. An evening is never dull whereever the Loewen family ends up and I am very thankful for a fun family that isn't afraid to have a good time!
I hope the rest of you had a great Christmas! Jeff and I have been truly blessed this Christmas and this past year! And the future is looking pretty awesome!
36 days to go! Well maybe 50!
